Alison J. McKenzie

Biography

Hello! My name is Alison McKenzie and I am a graduate student at Digipen Institute of Technology. This spring I will be graduating with a Master's of Science in Computer Programming. I am currently working on a graphics thesis on light snow rendering on the GPU.

I grew up in California and obtained a joint bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Guilford College in Greensboro, NC. In my free time I studied writing, 3D modeling and animation, and game design.

At Digipen I have had the opportunity to work on two game projects:

Unforgotten - 3D puzzle exploration game. An exploration puzzle game emphasizing mood, perspective and story, Unforgotten requires players to switch back and forth between two very different characters (a boy and his dog) to examine and interact with their environment.
With Tom Guzewich, Brian Hubble, Stephanie Hoover, and a fantastic art team led by Arisa Scott and Kevin French.

Izzy Is Lost! - 2D puzzle platformer. A solar-powered robot trapped in an underground mine must manipulate mirrors to reflect light so he can travel to the exit. General programmer, art director, environmental art, assistant level designer.
With Tom Guzewich, Brian Hubble, Stephanie Hoover, and Maybri Flores Garcia

In March 2010 I was published as a contributing author in Pathfinder Chronicles: Guide to the River Kingdoms with China Mieville, Chris Pramas and others for the Pathfinder tabletop roleplaying game.
